Hi. My name is Miki Markovich. I’m shy. I always have been. At some point early in my career, I found myself in public relations and marketing. I desired fantastic results but didn’t want to “shift my paradigm,” “get out of my comfort zone” or “synch my synergy” because frankly, life is too short. I’ve died once and have a serious heart condition. I just want to be me: shy, results-oriented, joyful. What I have learned on my journey is that being shy is an asset. Really. Let me show you how.

If you’re looking for the more formal version of my story, the official author’s biography can be found below. Best wishes to you always.

About Miki Markovich

Based in Eugene, Ore., Markovich is the author of “You Want Me to What?: Public Relations and Marketing for the Shy Person.” She has managed businesses across the nation and taught business communications to at-risk students. She holds degrees in English and education with concentrations in journalism and psychology.

Markovich has been in management and public relations from the age of twenty, traversing from the south to the Midwest to the West Coast, representing businesses spanning from a limousine service to a bar to a 1,600 unit apartment complex, among others. She increased profits 300% within nine months in a Girl Scout retail store and doubled the revenues of a high end learning facility in approximately four years, winning many awards in marketing along the way. She also trained marketing directors in four states and retrained managers for an international, multi-million dollar corporation.

Her philosophy was born shortly after earning her degree in English and journalism when she learned at the age of twenty-three that she had a serious heart condition.  After multiple complications such as dying during a routine procedure and waking up in the middle of heart surgery, she decided it was time to live life on her terms.  She’s shy and that’s an asset!

She co-founded Ground, Path and Fruition, a business consulting firm. In addition to this, she freelance writes. Her business dealings are built on consulting with heart, branding with imagination and marketing with soul. Her articles frequently appear on eHow and answerbag with titles including “Creative Ideas for Marketing a Service,” “Sales Training Strategies,” “Fun Games for Customer Service Week” and “Employee Wellness Program Ideas.”
